“You action movie-loving, cheeseburger-eating, moronic American lunatics.”

As most of you know, we no longer check in with Supernatural on a weekly basis, but we do pop in and take inventory when season finale time rolls around – and tonight’s two-episode close out, “Who We Are” and “All Along the Watchtower,” hit back hard with heartache and heavy happenings, more than making up for Season 11’s wimpy “draw” of a finale.

“Who We Are” wrapped up the British Men of Letters arc — the more grounded of this season’s two major storylines — with a violent assault (led by Jody and Sam) and a dreamscape-type probing of Mary’s mind (by Dean). Not everything about tonight’s send off landed well as Sam’s St. Crispin’s Day-style speech felt a touch cornball and Lady Bevill seemed to meet a rather unceremonious end considering how much time she spent with Sam and Dean in the bunker trying to get out. I felt like she was someone who could have stuck around and remained a recurring thorn in the boys’ side.
