The Spring Update for Battlefield 1 is now live, bringing with it Platoons, server administration features, and four new weapon variants, among a host of bug fixes and balance adjustments.

Any player can now create and manage their very own Platoon, which hosts a maximum of 100 players and may be set to open access, apply-to-join, or closed. Platoons, first introduced in Battlefield 3, are meant to bring a stronger and more organized sense of community to Battlefield, and can make it especially easy to find when and where your teammates are playing.

According to DICE, the Spring Update only introduces “the most essential Platoons features,” which it can continue building on in the future.
