At the Television Critics Association press tour today, there was good news/bad news for Donald Glover fans. The good news is Glover — who appears this summer in Spider-Man: Homecoming — has signed a new overall television production deal with FX, but the bad news is we won’t get a second season of Atlanta until 2018.

FX executives John Landgraf, Nick Grad and Eric Schrier said that while they wished Atlanta would be back this year, when Glover got the opportunity to play Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars young Han Solo movie, they understood it was one he couldn’t pass on. With Glover serving as the creator, executive producer and sometime writer and director on Atlanta, there was no way to have the series back on the air this year, given his Star Wars commitments.
